Log in with an API key
The CLI talks to Yocman with an API key. Keys start with ycm_ and are shown only once, when you create
them.
- Create an account and confirm your e-mail address.
- In the dashboard, open API keys and create a key (one per machine is a good habit, so you can revoke one without touching the others).
- Store it in the CLI:
yocman login --key ycm_...
The key is saved in ~/.config/yocman/config.toml (readable by you only) and checked against your account.
On a CI runner, keep it in the runner's secret store and run yocman login at the start of the job.
What is sent, and when
Local analyses (conf, size, audit with --no-ai...) send nothing. fix, explain, ask and the
optional AI summaries of analyses send masked excerpts: see what would be sent with --dry-run.
Next: your first fix.
